About Us



Daryl served over 18 years in the RAAF initially as a Radio Technician (Air) and subsequently completed a Diploma Electronic Engineering.  After 9 years service went on to become a Military Pilot in the RAAF gaining an Aviation Degree and spending time as a Check Captain, OIC (Officer-in-charge) Pilots and Flight Engineers Standards, Examiner, Senior Simulator Instructor and   Deputy Flight Commander.   In between Operational postings spent 2 years as a Director/Lecturer at the RAAF College gaining a DipEd and DipBusMan in the process.

Since leaving the RAAF, Daryl has been employed as a Senior Captain flying the Airbus A330/340 and previously Boeing 747 Aircraft.   In Feb 2005 purchased Plasteel and has been functioning as Managing Director and been successful in pursuing both Military and Commercial work expanding the business and reputation in the Precision Engineering Industry.  Daryl has spent time on the Board of Directors of the DTC where Plasteel remains a committed member.

Daryl enjoys fishing, boating, wine, socialising and the Crows.


Paul has an extensive background in Project Management largely gained in the Commercial and Domestic Construction Sector.  He was appointed General Manager at Plasteel SA in February 2005.  Prior to this he gained considerable experience in manufacturing environments including his own business that carried out Joinery and precision sheet metal works.  Initially trade qualified, Paul expanded his resume to include Teaching and Management tertiary qualifications.  Current duties at Plasteel SA see him oversee the total operation and assist with major Military and Commercial projects, from the tender process through to project delivery.  Career highlights include the successful delivery of the Australian Army's rapid acquisition project (Operation Catalyst) supporting the Armed Force's deployment into Iraq in 2005.  This was acknowledged by way of a formal commendation presented by the then Chief of Army Lieutenant General Peter  F Leahy AO.  Recent successful project delivery includes Bae Systems M113-A1 Armoured Personnel Carrier upgrade.  Paul enjoys motor sports, fishing, a healthy lifestyle and is a long- time supporter of the Adelaide Football Club.


Gary joined Plasteel in November 2007 and took on the role as Senior Project Officer. Originally trade qualified in Engineering Fabrication Services, Gary soon rose to supervisory roles in manufacturing environments and to undertake project related works.  He now manages major projects at Plasteel that include HVAC Fabrication services to ASC Air Warfare Destroyer Program, M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier Upgrade for Bae Systems, ASLAV APC Upgrade services for General Dynamics Land Systems.  Gary continues to develop his career and has recently attained qualifications in Project Management.


One of the newest members of our team, Annamaree was recruited in late 2013 to take on the role of Office and Quality Manager.  After a decade in Government Relations and Financial Management in the NT and SA Governments, Annamaree is enthusiastic about her return to private enterprise.  Annamaree holds Business and Management qualifications at a tertiary level.

Annamaree's position includes managing all financial administrative duties, human resource management and website development, as well as maintaining Plasteel's quality endorsements. 

Originally from the Gold Coast, Queensland and still relatively new to Adelaide, Annamaree enjoys exploring all that Adelaide has to offer and is systematically working her way through all the restaurants and wineries in the region.


Jason joined Plasteel in 2016 as their new Design Draftsman.  With a background working in Plastics and Metal fabrication, he is responsible for creating and maintaining a range of technical documents and drawings, as well as CNC programming for laser cutting and turret punch machines.  Jason brings a strong technical mindset and has tertiary qualifications in Industrial Design as well as Business Management.  In his spare time he enjoys drumming, motorcycle riding and plays lacrosse for the Glenelg Seahawks.


Ian started with Plasteel in September 2010 and has taken up the role of Sales Consultant.  He has considerable Sales experience covering manufacturing products and services and associated Industries.  Ian's role includes the development of new accounts, and a strategy to maintain and foster existing customers by offering a clear understanding of the company's capability.  Ian enjoys supporting the Adelaide 36ers and the Adelaide Football Club.


Shayla commenced an administration traineeship with Plasteel in 2014 and will soon receive her Certificate III in Business.  Shayla looks after front of house operations at Plasteel; greeting visitors, managing a busy switchboard, deliveries, accounts and providing administrative support to Management.  Shayla's interests include travelling, being outdoors and keeping fit and hopes to one day utilise her administrative skills in the travel industry.
